A Sacred Marriage Leads Us to a Holy God

The Bible begins and ends with marriage, and right in the middle, we have an entire book, the Song of Songs, devoted to the romance of marriage. God called Israel His wife, and the church is called the Bride of Christ.

Marriage is blessed, and Gary Thomas has written a marriage-changing book asking the question, “What if God designed marriage to make us holy more than to make us happy?”

That question changes the entire focus from how marriage will bring me happiness and pleasure to how I can bring glory to God through my marriage.  Continue reading A Sacred Marriage Leads Us to a Holy God

Happy Valentine’s Day, My Beloved

Valentine - 1

Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him. … they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:18-24

My Beloved,

God has blessed me with a man of God … my leader. Made for each other, the threads of our lives move in, out, and around each other weaving a vibrant, dynamic tapestry that continues to drape us in unity. May the gold, silver, and rainbow threads of our marriage strengthen our unity, our beauty, our intensity, our faith, our hope, and our love.
I love you dearly,

Karen

My Prayer

Father, bless Your dear children’s marriages. Fill them with a love that becomes more intimate, day-by-day. Help them to see their marriages as a shadow of our relationship with You and the churches’ relationship with Jesus as the bride of Christ. Empower us to live for You and our spouses. Thank You for agape love.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Slide1My prayer

Father, thank you for the nurturing love of a mother. That kind of love is a great picture of how You lead us by the hand and teach us Your ways. Thank you for mothers. May mothers throughout the world know Your great love and reflect it. May their children bless their mothers and their husbands praise their wives. Thank You, Lord!

How do your children celebrate Mother’s Day?

Keith,

The depth of my love for you is beyond description. Your love enfolds me and fills me with heavenly delight. I love you so.

My prayer for marriages:

Father, You designed marriage as a special gift to the crown of Your creation. Thank you for this blessed gift. I pray for all the husbands and wives who are Your children. Bless their love, intensify their love, and unify their relationship with You and each other, so that nothing can separate them from each other and from You. What a holy union You have created! All to the Glory of God.
