What to Do In Uncertain Times

As we begin a new year and a new decade, we see uncertainty in our world, our nation, and even in our families.

Lord, are we safe? Will we have enough money? What if one of us gets sick and needs extended care? I don’t know what to do, God.

Cry to God

David cried out to God in Psalm 60

O God, You have cast us off;
You have broken us down;
You have been displeased;
Oh, restore us again!
You have made the earth tremble;

You have broken it;
Heal its breaches, for it is shaking.
You have shown Your people hard things;
You have made us drink the wine of confusion.
You have given a banner to those who fear You,
That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah
That Your beloved may be delivered,
Save with Your right hand, and hear me.

Restore us, God. You’re displeased with us. We’re trembling because of what the future may bring. Heal our land, Lord. We’ve seen and experienced hard things. Help us to know what Your will is and which way You want us to go.

But this we know: Your banner of love and protection is over Your people.

We love The truth, for Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and we display Your banner.

Deliver Your beloved. Save us with Your right hand, and hear us. We ask for Your healing, Your protection, and Your everlasting love.

“And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,
Who shall stand as a banner to the people;
For the Gentiles shall seek Him,
And His resting place shall be glorious.” Isaiah 11:10

Jesus, you are our banner, and we rest in You.

Father, Your banner of protection is love, a love that is stronger, more enduring, and abundantly generous. We delight in You.

Great is our Lord! He reigns in glory, majesty, power, and love!
