Free At Last!

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1

Today, we remember Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. He knew freedom in God, and he sought to bring freedom to all of America. Freedom from racism. Freedom to live and work in equality, dignity, and respect. Freedom to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Isn’t that what Christianity is all about? Freedom from our sins and freedom to live in the presence of Jesus. Freedom to live eternally.

Trouble Giving Thanks?

“Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I think I’ll go out and eat worms!”

The mean things that my school mates said and did to me when I was in elementary school made me feel like eating worms. How about you?

I didn’t think about the loving Mama and Daddy I went home to or the dinner waiting for me. I didn’t remember my brothers and the joy I had as we played together.
