But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18
As sons and daughters of God, when we focus upon our Lord and Savior, His character, His attributes, and His actions, the Holy Spirit transforms us, empowering us to reflect God’s love and His glory. Our perspectives change, and we begin to see others as Jesus sees them, men and women He died for on the cross … sinners loved by Jesus.
Mission is what marriage is to be all about. For marriage finds its ultimate purpose outside of itself in the central role it plays in the mission of God. No other human relationship reveals the pattern of God’s relationship with humanity and with His people as well as a loving and stable marriage. What a privilege and responsibility is given to every believing married couple. The intimacy of their union, the life-giving vitality of their relationship, and consistency of their faithfulness to one another in marriage reveals the very gospel of Jesus Christ.

Have you thought of your marriage as a reflection of the gospel of Jesus? Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:32 that marriage is a mystery, a hidden secret that is now revealed.
Marriage reflects the Good News of Jesus and the church. Click To TweetFrom Adam’s side, Eve was formed and given to Adam as his bride. Adam and Eve became one.
From Jesus on the cross, the church was born and given to Him as His bride. Jesus and the church are one forever. Soon, there will be the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. What rejoicing there will be!
Women, as the love gift of God to our husbands, we are privileged to reflect God’s love by loving our husbands unconditionally, praying for them, forgiving them when they sin, praising them and raising them up, serving them, giving them blessing after blessing, and respecting them as God’s sons.
As we reflect God’s love in our marriages, we will be living out Romans 12:1-2, presenting our very being as a living sacrifice and allowing God to renew our minds, resulting in knowing what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2
My prayer
Our Father, thank You for the amazing gift of marriage. We are overwhelmed by the beauty and holiness of marriage. Help us to see our husbands as Your sons on the way to great things. Forgive us when we take our eyes off of You and stumble as wives. Heal the broken parts of our marriages. Take us by the right hand and lead us as we reflect Your love upon our husbands. Give us more of You, Jesus, and more love for our husbands. We praise You for Your work in our marriages and look forward to what You will do through the years. Thank You, Lord of All. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
