Where is God’s lovingkindness leading you?

Colored RoseAll the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth

It is a great and awesome thing that God gave Himself, so that men and women would be able to live with Him forever.

Declare His lovingkindness in the morning and His faithfulness by night!

The Lord is gracious and merciful;
Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.
The Lord is good to all,
And His mercies are over all His works.
All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord,
And Your godly ones shall bless You.
They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom
And talk of Your power;
To make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts
And the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations. Psalm 145:8-13

Lovingkindness leads us to the manger.
Lovingkindness leads us to the foot of the cross.
Lovingkindness leads us to repentance.
Lovingkindness leads us to thanksgiving.
Lovingkindness leads us to proclaim His mighty works.
Lovingkindness leads us to say, “Come, Lord, Jesus.”
Lovingkindness endures forever.
Blessed be the name of the Lord!

My prayer:

May you be filled with His love to overflowing; may you abound in His peace that passes all understanding; may you bless others widely as you live out the hope that is in you.

God’s lovingkindness brings peace

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27

Jesus gives us peace with God, a peace that is not dependent on our actions or others’ actions. This peace was bought with His blood and His flesh. Jesus paid the price for our sins and wiped away all that separated us from God.

Jesus breathes His peace upon us; all we have to do is take it in, live, move, and rest in His glorious peace.

His lovingkindness brings peace!

My prayer for you

May you walk in the peace of God and may you lilve, move, and rest in His glorious peace.

The Lord satisfies YOU!

Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.  Psalm 103:1-5

Five promises within five verses; these promises require nothing on my part, but everything on the part of our Great God.

I have 26 rose bushes. Most weekends, you will find me tending to my roses. Some of the bushes have long, prickly thorns, and many times, as I reach to prune a dead rose, the thorns lunge at me and scratch me, or lodge in my arm. The resulting bright red blood plops on the stones surrounding the roses. No worries. I love my roses. I cherish my roses. I feed them, I weed around them, and I adorn my house with roses. They bring me pleasure and satisfy me.

Isn’t that the way the Lord is? We sin, and He pardons that sin. He nourishes us and heals us from our diseases. Our sin had to be dealt with just as the thorn had to be plucked from my arm. Blood resulted. Not only did Jesus redeem us from the pit with His blood, but He has also crowned us with lovingkindness and compassion.

Think of what a crown of lovingkindness and compassion might look like. Would it be a gold crown encrusted with jewels? Would it be a laurel wreath? I imagine my crown as a wreath of fragrant red roses.

Walk with the crown you have imagined on your head. Won’t that satisfy you and give you a smile?
