Giants between you and God’s promise? With God, take it!

Then the sons of Judah drew near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know the word which the LORD spoke to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh-barnea. “I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I brought word back to him as it was in my heart. “Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt with fear; but I followed the LORD my God fully. “So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have followed the LORD my God fully.’ “Now behold, the LORD has let me live, just as He spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that the LORD spoke this word to Moses, when Israel walked in the wilderness; and now behold, I am eighty-five years old today. I am still as strong today as I was in the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so my strength is now, for war and for going out and coming in. “Now then, give me this hill country about which the LORD spoke on that day, for you heard on that day that Anakim were there, with great fortified cities; perhaps the LORD will be with me, and I will drive them out as the LORD has spoken.” So Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance. Joshua 14:7-13

Caleb waited on the promise of God for 45 years. He counted on that promise and walked fully with God for those 45 years knowing that one day he would possess God’s promise.

Forty-five years of manna. Just as God said, his generation died because they did not believe that God would deliver the promised land into their hands; only Joshua and Caleb remained of that generation.

As strong as when he was 40, Caleb asks for the hill country, Hebron, where the giants live. To possess Hebron, Caleb will fight fierce battles.

“Perhaps the Lord will be with me, and I will drive them out as the LORD has spoken.”

So Joshua blessed Caleb and sent him into the battle to possess the promise from the Lord and to regain a sacred land. Hebron, meaning “fellowship,” is where Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Rebekah, and Leah are buried.

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it. Numbers 14:24

Caleb prepared to possess the promise.

  1. Caleb followed God fully.
  2. Caleb believed he would possess God’s promise.
  3. Caleb kept his body strong.
  4. Caleb set his eyes on the land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
  5. Caleb asked for the land of the giants, the land of the fierce battles.
My prayer:

Father, thank You for Caleb. Give us the spirit of Caleb, an unshakeable faith in Your Word, Your promises and what Your best is for us. Empower us to see what You have in store for us, and show us how to prepare to possess what You have established for us from the foundation of the world.

What are the promises you’re preparing to possess?

The Holy Land Key … A review

In The Holy Land Key: Unlocking end-times prophecy through the lives of God’s people in Israel, Ray Bentley brings to life end times prophecy like no other pastor I’ve encountered. He shows us his friends and colleagues in Israel who are living it out.

“For Jews living in Israel today, prophecy is their present as well as their future.”

Stories of divine appointments, struggles, successes, and defeats make the prophecies come alive. I connected in a personal way with the individuals Bentley shared.

Bentley shows us the patterns God ordained from the beginning of the world. Patterns that are displayed first in the natural visible flesh, and then revealed in the spiritual realm.

Bentley weaves the seasons and Feasts of the Lord, the riddle of the Sphinx, the Gospel displayed in the Zodiac, and current events into a tapestry filled with rich colors, intricate patterns, and layered meanings.

He reveals a role in end-times prophecy for America. Christopher Columbus believed that his voyage to discover America was his mission. In his Book of Prophecies, Columbus claimed that the discovery of the New World was “the fulfillment of what Isaiah prophesied” in Isaiah 24:15 and 60:9.

Unlike many end-times prophecy books, The Holy Land Key offers more than in-depth revelation; it calls the reader to action and gives practical steps and resources available to enlist readers to get involved.

This is a book that I will refer to again and again. This is also a book that has spurred me on to learn more about the Gospel revealed in the Zodiac.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for an honest review.

My prayer:

Father, You are such an awesome God, revealing Your patterns and prophecies to those who love Your coming. Thank you for Ray Bentley, his Jewish friends, and all who contributed to the publication of The Holy Land Key. Bless the ministries mentioned in this book, and bless Israel and Your chosen people. Surround Israel with Your grace, love, and protection. We look forward to the fulfillment of Your Word.

Possess the promises God has for you

clouds pink

“For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.” Exodus 40:38

God led the children of Israel through the desert with a cloud overshadowing them by day and a  pillar of fire by night.

God overshadows His children with the cooling cloud in the heat of the day and the warm flames of the pillar of fire in the cold desert night. He leads them, provides for them, and gives them rest.

As the cloud and pillar of fire rested on the tabernacle of the house of Israel, the Holy Spirit rests within God’s children. Their bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

In the desert, the Israelites learned to depend upon God for their daily food and water, for their shelter, and for their guidance. They lived by daily miracles … manna from heaven, water from a rock, quail from the wind, healing from the snakebites, cooling cloud by day, and pillar of fire by night. God is all-powerful.

When the Israelites came to the edge of the desert and God readied them to enter the Promised Land, Moses sent 12 men to investigate the land. The men brought back a branch of grapes so big that they put it on a pole and carried it between two men.

Joshua and Caleb urged the Israelites to go into this land of flowing milk and honey. The 10 remaining spies focused on the people of the land who were strong, lived in fortified cities, and many were giants.

The trip through the desert was supposed to be a relatively short trip, a time of leaning into God and learning to trust Him. Instead of trusting God to sustain and protect them on the journey into the Promised Land, the Israelites chose to stay in the desert rather than to take on the battles to possess the promise.

Is there a promise that you’re hesitating to take possession of? Perhaps there is a battle before you take possession of God’s promise for you. God will sustain you. God will protect you.

My prayer for you:

Father of promises, great and small, give us greater faith as we lean into You. Help us feel Your presence as we step into the promises You have given to us. We know that the battle belongs to You. Thank You for all You are. Thank You for Your love. Thank You.

An email from inside Israel today

Jerusalem looking down

I just received an email from a friend in Israel. I emailed her yesterday that I was praying for her and her family and friends. It is below.

Thanks! Here’s a copy and paste you can pass on!

I’m at a friend in Bnei Braq using her computer. My daughters and I are thankfully NOT at our homes in Netivot. A rocket landed outside of my elder daughter Devory’s home and blew out all of the windows of her apartment !! None of us are planning to return south until this is over G-d willing.

It’s awful that now roughly 70% of the country is in rocket range of these fundamentalist Jihadists in Gaza. They threw rockets that hit Arab areas like Hebron and Bethlehem yesterday!! Sheesh!! Talk about ‘brotherly love!!!

The IDF warns the populace to leave an area before it bombs a home and either they are stubborn SOBs. or the Chamas makes them stay. SO they get blown up when we strike places that are manufacturing/ hiding rockets or homes of important Hamas people. This makes for bad public relations for Israel and great p.r. for the Hamas.

Here throughout the country kids are wetting their beds; people are scrambling to reschedule weddings at halls out of rocket range; folks are missing work as they have to stay home with kids. Many like myself do NOT have a mamad (special air raid room) so have to leave their home towns wandering from relative to relative with their suitcases. It is a nightmare. How will it end? Who knows. Thank G-d that HE is on our side!

For, every rocket that is thrown our way has a miracle sent together with it to protect us. HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of rockets have been sent over and NOBODY has been killed yet. MIRACLES! Thank you Hashem for your everlasting lovingkindness! May we be worthy of your generosity and kindness!

My prayer for Esther and Israel:

Father in Heaven, thank You for Your lovingkindness and protection of Israel. We pray that Your wings of protection will cover that country. We thank You that Esther and her family has been protected by You and that Your lovingkindness toward Your people extends to generations upon generations. Father, bring peace to Your people and Your land. Heal their anxiety, and rain down Your grace. Thank You for the MIRACLES that You are performing as signs that the battle belongs to You. Bless Israel and Esther and her family.
