The Bible is God’s love letter to us. Scriptures reveal God’s faithfulness to His creation, to you and me.

Have you found that as we meditate upon the Scriptures, our faithfulness to God and others begins to grow? Do people see God’s faithfulness in you?

Scriptures Reveal God’s Faithfulness

Old Testament

1. Covenant Keeper. “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations” (Deuteronomy 7:9 ESV)
2. Redeemer. “Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God.” (Psalm 31:5 ESV)
3. Truth Revealer. “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. [The LORD is faithful in all His words and kind in all His works.]” (Psalm 145:13 ESV)
4. Wonder Worker and Planner. “O LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You; I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.” (Isaiah 25:1 ESV)

New Testament

1. Companion. “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:9 ESV)
2. Guard. “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3 ESV)
3. True. “if we are faithless, He remains faithful– for He cannot deny Himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13 ESV)
4. High Priest. “Therefore He [Jesus] had to be made like His brothers in every respect, so that He might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” (Hebrews 2:17 ESV)
5. Apostle, High Priest, and Son of God. “Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house. For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses–as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a Son. And we are His house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.” (Hebrews 3:1-6 ESV)
6. Promise Keeper. “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23 ESV)
7. Creator. “Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” (1 Peter 4:19 ESV)
8. Forgiver. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9 ESV)
9. Witness, Firstborn of the Dead, and Ruler of Kings. “and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the Firstborn of the Dead, and the Ruler of Kings on earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood” (Revelation 1:5 ESV)
10. Faithful and True, Judge. “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The One sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.” (Revelation 19:11 ESV)

Faithful Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to us. Your faithfulness is beyond our comprehension. When we are unfaithful, You remain faithful. Prompt Your people to meditate upon Your Scriptures, Your love words to us. Touch our hearts and cause us to be faithful to You, Your people, and Your creation. Glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
