Her children rise up and call her blessed;Proverbs 31:28 (ESV)
her husband also, and he praises her.
Two young mothers and I walked with God in their season of motherhood for the past three months. We used Melissa Kruger’s devotional Bible study, Walking with God in the Season of Motherhood as our guide.
What a blessing we received!
In the study, Kruger provides four days of study in God’s Word and a fifth day of reflecting on the Scriptures and application. She interjects tips from her own experience.
I was delighted to see the mothers incorporate her tips the same week that we learned of them.
Their husbands even noticed a difference and began discussing the study with these beautiful women.
Kruger provided verses for the moms to memorize and 12 verses for the children along with explanations. I designed cards for them to place in strategic areas in their homes like the ones below.
Memory Verse for Mothers
Verse for Children
Kruger encouraged us to pray before we began each day’s devotion and to close our time in prayer as we reflected on how we could apply the Scriptures to our lives as daughters of God, mothers, and wives.
Day 1 of the fifth week reflects God’s “deep, unchanging love for His children.”
All Scripture points to one ultimate conclusion: our Father treasures us and loves us dearly–all the way to the cross and back. Being rooted firmly in His love allows us to overflow with love for our children.Melissa Kruger (p. 85)
Melissa Kruger’s love for God and motherhood touched us deeply. We have a new appreciation of motherhood. Everyday busyness can become moments to reflect on God’s love.
Our loving Father, thank You for giving Melissa Kruger wisdom and love for young mothers. Bless her and her children as she continues to serve You and mentor other mothers. Bless all the older women who are mentoring younger women with this book, and the young mothers who are walking through this book. In Jesus’ name, we pray, amen.
