Jesus said to His disciples, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Mark 16:15
Surely the pandemic will be over by the end of July, I reasoned. Disappointment greeted me when I learned that the She Speaks Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina was canceled. An online version of the conference was being considered.
I signed up for the online conference, thinking that something was better than nothing, but really not expecting much.
After all, how could the planners create the experience of close contacts? That’s one of the benefits that an attendee wants from an in-person conference.
Tremendous disappointment.
One week ago, the She Speaks Online Communicators Conference ended. I now have new connections, more knowledge about writing and the Bible than I expected to reap, and a new group of friends who are writers.
I was delighted that the main focus of the conference was about our relationship with God and serving Him and His people through writing.
Personal Blessings
The leaders of the conference demonstrated this commitment to serving God’s daughters in many ways. One way they did this was to place us in groups facilitated by Proverbs 31 authors. I was fortunate to be in Sharon Jaynes’ group. She prepared us for the conference, met with us during the conference, and followed up with us after the conference. Sharon shared personal experiences and tips that she has learned through her years of writing and being published. She went above and beyond our expectations. She even asked that we invite her for follow-up online meetings, and if she is available, she will attend.
Global Blessings
If the She Speaks Conference had been held in Charlotte, there would have been space for 700 women.
Since the conference was held online, 2,200 women in 25 countries were able to attend and participate.
The pandemic opened the way for more women to be equipped to point people to Jesus through their writing!
Father, You know the beginning to the end. The battle is Yours, and we stand in awe as we watch You fight the battle for Your people. You blessed the conference and attendees beyond our expectations. May the conference organizers and attendees be bold to proclaim the gospel, pointing others to Jesus. Father, thank You for how You are equipping Your daughters to accomplish the works that You have prepared for them to do. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Thank you for this encouragement.
With a passionate desire to have been a participant as well though without the time to have taken advantage of it, I book marked the information looking to next year as a possibility if the Lord tarries.
Glad you were so blessed!
Onward with lessons of being content with what has currently been placed before me. Increasing realities and requirements of living with an aging mom is challenging to say the least on top of my own life requirements and Covid complications.
My hope, joy, and strength is anchored in the Lord.
I DO possess His promises!
K J, I am so sorry that you missed the conference but glad that you have bookmarked it for next year. Father, I ask that You pour out Your blessings upon K J and give her peace in the midst of the challenges that she faces. Bless K J and her mom, and keep them anchored in You. Take them by the right hand and empower them to possess Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
