How Much of the Son’s Light Are You Reflecting?

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

The moon reflects up to 12% of the sun’s light. How much of Son’s light are you reflecting?

God spoke light into existence, separating the darkness from the light and said that it was good, Genesis 1:3. With light, we can walk through the woods, down the road, or up a mountain, seeing where we are going and preventing stumbling.

With Jesus leading the way and guiding our footsteps, we see the path He has prepared for us, and we do not stumble. We walk as He lights the way.

We see white light from the sun most of the time. But when water droplets reflect and refract the sun’s rays, beautiful colors appear. They were there all along; however, our eyes were unable to see the colors and their beauty.

Once a person accepts Jesus as Savior, the Holy Spirit begins to reveal the wonder of walking with Jesus.

Jesus is our light, and as we walk in His light, He reveals how our paths dance in the light of His other followers’ paths creating rainbows, prisms, and sometimes an aurora borealis or an aurora australis.

The Holy Spirit gives us gifts as He determines, and God has prepared works for us to accomplish from before the foundation of the world (1 Corinthians 12:4, Ephesians 2:10). As we walk together in the light of Jesus, we shine, pointing to the beauty and glory of His holiness (1 Chronicles 16:29,

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1

As we walk in the Light of Life, Jesus, we discover that the glory of the LORD has risen upon us. Jesus is shining on our paths, and revealing the spectrum of beautiful colors He has for us.

My prayer

Father of Lights, every good gift is from You. Your creation reveals the beauty of Your holiness, and we are privileged to walk in the Light of Life. Enable us to perceive the beautiful colors that our paths contain and the paths of our family of believers. You are glorious, and we exalt and praise Your Name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
