A Prayer for America

Like King David and his army, we may feel totally defeated. Perhaps we’ve lost hope. America is in turmoil. God’s people are crying out to God as David cried out to God in Psalm 60.

O God, You have cast us off;
You have broken us down;
You have been displeased;
Oh, restore us again!
You have made the earth tremble;
You have broken it;

Heal its breaches, for it is shaking.
You have shown Your people hard things;
You have made us drink the wine of confusion.

Jesus Lives! Sin and Death Conquered!

“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Jesus is victorious!

Sin, the sting of death, was paid for. Jesus paid the price of your sins and my sins, death on the cross. He took the sins of the world upon Himself. He took the shame and guilt of the world’s wrong-doing upon His perfection and died a death that you and I deserve. He was buried in a borrowed tomb.

Three days later, God raised Jesus from the dead to walk, teach, eat, and fellowship with His disciples and followers.

Sin and death conquered!
