All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
2 Timothy 3:16-17
for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete,
thoroughly equipped for every good work.
A slow walk through the Bible reveals new hope for wives in the new year. I cherish the love letter that God has given to the world … the Bible.
The Bible tells us about the nature of God and about the nature of men and women.
The Bible gives us promises. We can believe these promises because we see how God has worked in creation and in the lives of the people in the Bible. We can also believe God’s promises as we see them answered in our lives and the lives of others.
All Scripture is a gift from God and is valuable to give us understanding, to discipline us, to correct us, and to teach us, so that we will be equipped to do every good work that God has planned for us to accomplish.
We are called to believe with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength. We are called to trust God as if we were dangling from a tree branch hanging over a cliff. We are called to trust God so much that we let go of the branch and fall into His waiting arms.
Belief and trust in God transforms our spirits, our thoughts, our hearts, and our actions.
Belief and trust cause us to love like we have never loved before.
Belief and trust cause us to reflect God’s love and bless others.
Belief and trust cause our husbands to see a glimpse of God’s love for them through us.
Belief and trust transform broken shards of glass into stained glass that reflects the many colors and patterns of God’s love for us and our husbands.
Belief and trust ablaze set us free to reflect God’s love and bless others.

You and your husband are important to God. God created the heavens and the earth with beauty and variety, and He said that it was good. He created man and woman in all their beauty and differences and called them very good. God was pleased with His creation. We are created in God’s image, and God is pleased with you and your husband.
Throughout the Bible, God instructs His people to hide His Word in their hearts.
Consider your relationship with God in connection with 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
What if you copied that verse on an index card and put it on your bathroom mirror this week. As you get ready for the day, read it and make it a prayer of thanksgiving by praying and thanking God that you are His, and if your husband is a believer, you can also thank God that your husband is a new creation in Christ. If he is not a believer, thank God for giving you the opportunity to reflect God’s love upon your husband so that he sees God through you.
New Hope In the New Year … A Prayer
Father, thank You that I am in Christ and that my husband is, too. Because we have trusted in Your Son, we are new creations. The mess that we were before has passed away because Jesus gave us new life. Direct our paths into that newness of life. Help us to walk together with one mission–to serve You and each other. We can now walk through this new year with new hope. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
