Jesus has Risen! Go and Tell …

Just before dawn on the third day after Jesus died on the cross, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and Salome went to Jesus’ tomb to anoint Him.

When they arrived, the great stone blocking the tomb had been rolled away, and they met an angel who said that Jesus had risen from the dead.

He told them, “Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”
(Matthew 28:7, ESV)

The women ran to tell the disciples.

“Greetings!”

JESUS!!

Jesus met them, and they took hold of His feet and worshipped Him.

“Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.” (Matthew 28:10, ESV)

Later, the 11 disciples met Jesus on the mountain in Galilee.

“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20, ESV)

Jesus has risen! Go and tell. Go and make disciples, baptize, and teach.

Jesus took away your sins and my sins. Jesus conquered death. Jesus commands us to go, tell, make disciples, baptize, and teach.

Jesus is with us … always.

Our Savior, our Lord, You freed us from our slavery to sin and death. You laid down Your life for the world, and You took it up again after three days. We praise You and love You. You are all we need and want. But You haven’t stopped. You are in heaven at the right hand of God speaking on our behalf. Thank You. You are coming again. Even so, Lord Jesus, come quickly. Maranatha! Amen.

May your Resurrection Sunday (Easter) be filled with rejoicing as you meditate upon His great love for you.
