Keith and I have traveled and lived throughout the world. We like adventures, even when we don’t know what lies ahead. Do you?
The Christian walk is such an adventure that starts with God.
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are,” 1 John 3:1a (ESV).
God desires to pour out His love and abundantly bless us.
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have acknowledged your disobedience to God (confessed your sins) and turned from them (repented). You have accepted the free gift of God, eternal life with Him. Jesus cleansed you from your sins by taking the sins of the world upon Himself and enduring the wrath of God that you and I deserve. He died and was buried in a tomb. On the third day, He rose from the dead – conquering death. He now sits at the right hand of God speaking on His followers’ behalf.
Because of Jesus, God calls His children righteous.
“If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him,”
1 John 2:29 (ESV).
Those who are righteous are born of God, and they have become God’s children. They’ve been given new life, and this new life lasts forever. What is the hope of Christians, joyful and confident expectation?
We know:
- We are sons and daughters of God.
- We are righteous.
- We will be like Him.
- We are purified.
- We are abiding in Him.
- We are growing in the knowledge of God.
- We are loving our brothers and sisters.
- We are not of this world.
- We have passed from death to life.
- We are citizens of heaven.
- We are following Jesus on the true way.
- We can be confident that the Father hears our prayers.
- We have been given the Holy Spirit as our Helper.
- We keep God’s commandments with the Holy Spirit’s help.
- By the Holy Spirit, we dwell in God.
What manner of love has the Father given us? All that He has!
- Jesus destroyed the devil’s works.
- Jesus paid the price that we owed for our sins.
- Jesus conquered death.
- Jesus is alive today.
- Jesus is working in the lives of His followers.
- Jesus is speaking to the Father on our behalf.
- Jesus loves us.
Pause to ponder the cost of God’s love for you. Do you know that love?

This Divine Love Is A Gift For You
Jesus loves you and wants to share life with you. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are missing out on an adventure that equals no other. And you can be assured that this adventure’s final destination is more glorious that you can ever imagine. Join me on this adventure today.
Pray this prayer today.
God, I have disobeyed Your Word and have sinned. I’ve done things that I’m not proud of. I choose to turn from them. Please forgive me and help me to keep from sinning against You. I believe that Your Son, Jesus, took my sins upon Himself on the cross and died for me. He was buried in a tomb but rose from the dead on the third day. After He rose from the dead, He appeared to His disciples and others. I believe that He is at Your right hand and speaking on my behalf. I surrender my life to You. Jesus, be my Lord and Savior. In Your name, I pray, amen.
If you prayed that prayer, angels in heaven are rejoicing, and I am rejoicing. You are a new creation in Christ, all things have passed away and all things are new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Find a Bible-teaching church and become active in a Bible study there. Take your Bible and begin reading through the New Testament (beginning with Matthew). Pray before you begin and ask God to reveal to you what He wants you to learn.
You will want to download this free “Welcome to the Family” worksheet that will help you understand your new life in Jesus.
You have begun a new adventure, one that will last for eternity.
Will you please share your newfound faith in the comments below?
Dear child of God, my prayer for you is that the love of the Father will captivate your heart and spirit as you meditate upon the new life the Father has given you in His household as the child of the Most High God.
Lord, cause the knowledge of Your self-sacrificing love to sink into our very beings so that we fulfill all the plans that You have for us. May we be strong and very courageous as we step out in faith to do the works that You have prepared and equipped us for. In the name of Jesus, amen.
