In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus sweated as if it were drops of blood.

He asked the Father if there was any other way to save you and me from our sins ….

Any other way than being beaten beyond recognition as a man …

Any other way than being nailed to the cross ….

Any other way than having your sin, my sin, the sins of the world placed on Him …

Any other way than the shame of the cross …

Any other way than God forsaking Him for a brief time (but it seemed to Jesus like an eternity) …

Any other way than the tomb …

Any other way!

And there was none.

Jesus paid the ultimate price …

for you …

for me,

So that we can pour out our souls to God …

So that we can ask for our hearts’ desires …

So that we can give the gifts of God back to Him …

So that we can rejoice in what God has done for us …

So that we can smile at our enemies …

So that we can rejoice in our salvation …

So that we can cast our crowns at His feet …

So that we can exult in the fact that there is no one like our holy and mighty God.
