From Disappointment to God’s Plans

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11

Are you wondering if God hears your cry for help today? Do your challenges seem insurmountable?

Through Jeremiah, God told the Israelites that although they would suffer Babylonian captivity for 70 years, He would bring them back into Israel as His beloved people.

God used their captivity to cause them to return to Him, to call upon His name, and to pray to Him.

In those days when you pray, I will listen.
If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
Jeremiah 29:12-13

God’s Promise

He would hear them, and they would find Him when they sought Him with all their hearts. Their captivity worked for good, for they returned to Him as God’s own possession.

A good promise.

We can be assured that God is using our trials to deepen our relationship with Him, for we are called by Him for His good purpose.

Let’s examine ourselves and call out to God. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to show us if there is any sin that we need to confess and turn from.

God’s Plans for You

God hears, and He has good plans for you.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God
and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28

God is working in your life. Take a few moments to list a few times when you have recognized God at work in you.

Did you find that the more you wrote, the more you remembered God working? Does it make you want to give thanks?

Our Sovereign Lord, You have all things under Your control. You are using all that we are enduring to accomplish Your perfect will. Thank You that You have called us according to Your purpose. We see You at work in our lives, and we thank You. There is none like You. You are the Great I AM, and You know the beginning from the end. Thank You that You have called us and are working in and through us. Amen
