“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17
In the beginning, God created the world in all its beauty and perfection. He created man and woman in His image and said that it was very good. God walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day, for He loved them, and He loved all His creation.
He gave Adam and Eve one commandment, not to eat the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They ate of it, and the world was changed forever. They now knew good and evil. They were now sinners. They were now expelled from the Garden of Eden and from the physical presence of God … until the coming of the Savior.
Although they were separated from God physically, God was with Adam and Eve. He performed the first sacrifice for them and clothed them with skins. And God gave them a promise: although Eve was deceived and ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil first, from her seed, the Savior of the world would come (Genesis, 3:15).
3 Reasons to Adore
- God loved the world. He created the world. He created man and woman. He provided for them even though they sinned against Him, even though they were now sinners.
- God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus. Jesus emptied Himself of the glory that He enjoyed with God in heaven to enter the world through the womb of a peasant girl. He endured the insults of the Pharisees and Sadducees. He had no home while He ministered on earth, and yet, the entire world was His home. He proclaimed the Kingdom of Heaven and demonstrated authority over nature, sickness, death, and Satan. God gave His Holy Son as the Perfect Sacrifice to pay the price for the world’s sins. Our sins nailed Jesus to the cross, and Jesus took all our sins and sicknesses upon Himself.
- God offers everlasting life with Him. If we believe in Jesus, if we cling to Him, if we follow Jesus, He promises us a dwelling place with Him forever.
No condemnation. Salvation!

My prayer
Creator of the Universe, Lord of Hosts, and Awesome Provider of Life, we stand in awe of Your great love. During this season of preparation for Christmas, empower us to go deeper with You, so that we understand the height, the depth, the width, and the intensity of Your great gift. We adore You for who You are and what You have done for us. We look forward to beholding Your glory this Advent Season as we learn how to adore You with greater intimacy.
