What’s Good About This Friday?

The Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci – Image by Markus Baumeler from Pixabay

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:26-29

The Bible indicates that on the night that Jesus was betrayed, He shared a Passover meal with His disciples – a Passover meal that He had longed to share with His disciples – a Passover meal that truly looked back to the first Passover meal.

In Exodus 12, we read that the Israelites were to slay the perfect lamb that they had selected 4 days earlier, take some of its blood and spread it on the two doorposts and lintel of their houses, roast the lamb, and eat it along with some bitter herbs and unleavened bread.

The firstborn of any family in the land who did not have the blood on the doorposts and lintel of their houses would be slain. The Passover lamb saved the firstborn males in Israel if the families had their doorposts and lintels covered with the Passover lamb’s blood. This Passover ushered in their freedom from slavery in Egypt.

With this meal, Jesus shows the disciples the true meaning of the Passover. On this day (the Jewish day began at sunset), the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, the Holy Sacrifice, Jesus, dies on the cross to free the world from its sins.

… “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19

In just a few hours, Jesus’ body is ripped open, beaten beyond recognition as a man, and nailed to a cross. He takes on the sins of the world – past, present, and future. He experiences excruciating pain and shame. He experiences the wrath of God.

And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.” Luke 22:20

The new covenant brings eternal life, life with Jesus face-to-face, if we accept this free gift.

We celebrate the Last Supper regularly. We understand that Jesus is our Passover Lamb. We understand that He died on the cross for our sins. We understand that He rose from the grave three days later. Head knowledge.

Jesus gave everything, so that we could live with Him in righteousness forever. From the heart of His being, Jesus gave everything for us.

I wonder, do we really understand the true goodness that this Friday brings?

We must receive this precious gift. We must abide in Jesus – from our hearts, our minds, our souls, and our spirits.

Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. John 6:53-56

My prayer

Father, we cannot fathom the great love You have for Your people. It is too high for us to understand. Help us to comprehend more as we learn of You and Your Son and let it sink deep within our hearts, our minds, our souls, and our spirits. Teach us to abide in Jesus, for He is our true food, our true drink, our true salvation, our true freedom. Jesus is the reason this Friday is Good. Thank You for this Good, Good Friday! In Jesus’ name, Amen

As the Lord has awakened me to these various ways in which His word is twisted (mistranslations/perversions of the inspired first century Greek word itself via modern Bible versions AND the KJV; perverting men via secret societies and then having them found or teach in seminaries, or become pastors, deacons, or Bible study teachers to deceive the lazy “laity” which doesn’t search out the truth for themselves, etc.), I’ve come to see that the most precious of doctrines attacked pertain to the deity of Jesus Christ and to END-TIMES PROPHECY. Consider that!

Darby, Scofield, Hal Lindsey, and his associate Chuck Missler – only four of hundreds of well-known examples – were instrumental in falsely teaching untold multitudes of Christians that the ENTIRE church will escape the coming tribulation. This popular false doctrine (which I also falsely believed and taught until the Lord awakened me to truth!) completely ignores the numerous accountability teachings of our Lord, also taught by Paul, James, Peter, and the author of Hebrews.

Yes, salvation is ONLY by grace through faith, and EVERYONE who calls upon the Lord Jesus WILL be part of the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21)…

BUT, all believers will be judged according to our WORKS! Only a blessed and holy few will win the prize of the first resurrection that Paul (assured of his salvation!) sought so fervently: entering into and reigning in Christ’s Millennial kingdom (Rev. 20:4-6; Matt. 7:13-14, 21; Luke 20:34-36; 1Cor. 9:24-10:12; Phil. 3:11-14; Rev. 3:10, etc.).

Realize how dangerous it is for Christians to falsely believe they will automatically escape the coming tribulation and NOT have to die to self sufficiently in this lifetime (NOT be held accountable for their works).

Please do make the time (lots!) to study the Scriptures on this key matter as I did! For the true Bereans (like yourself), they are listed at the bottom of the Introduction of this four-part series the Lord led me to write this past fall/winter https://thelordiswithus.com/resurrection-rapture-judgment-and-millennium/.

It took me months of Holy Spirit-led study to unlearn false doctrines and relearn what God’s word actually says on this matter!

Deanna, I will take time later. Right now, I disagree with you. I am a pre-tribulation believer and have taught a year-long Bible study on Revelation that included Daniel and the prophets. But I will consider your thoughts after the marriage conference in June. Have a blessed day!

      1. deanna reynolds Avatar

Oh, the few overcoming Christians ARE raptured pre-trib! It’s the non-overcoming majority (who haven’t received sufficient humbling/discipline, and thus must endure the tribulation before they finally die to self and wash their robes) who will be raptured pre-wrath as the great multitude.

Please remember: it’s not my thoughts, but GOD’s TRUTH regarding these key matters I’m asking you to study like you never have before! (I also have taught Revelation and Daniel and other prophets as you have.) Unlearning false doctrine requires love of TRUTH, much death to self (discipline), and much time with the Holy Spirit as our Teacher. Praise God, His truth (actual word) demolishes such strongholds!

This and you are very dear to my heart! Please DO be praying about it, and DO the Bible study as soon as you can! There is a great multitude of sleeping Sardis-like brothers and sisters who need to WAKE UP and wash their robes in order to receive the prize of entering into the kingdom pretrib instead of prewrath as the great multitude. Thank you for allowing me to preach what the Lord has wrought in my heart here, dear Karen – MUCH appreciated!

Karen, I’d love to share with you this brief biography Schoettle Publishing has of Robert Govett (1831-1901), who was possibly the first student of His word to whom God revealed His truths regarding the Judgment Seat of Christ and its relation to entrance or exclusion from His literal Millennial kingdom. After learning of Govett via Watchman Nee, I learned that Schoettle publishes his many works, and read many of his expositions on the matter over the past year and a half. From this link you can access outlines of many of his books, and even entire first chapters of some. Truly a blessing, his expositions are!

Beware all ministers of the word who flash devil horns or other such hand signals by which they (must!) disclose themselves as the Illumined ones: Luciferians. (Few Christians are awake as to the significance of these silent but conspicuous signs that those who serve the devil MUST flash as the Hollywood celebrities, big name athletes, and popular music industry artists do.)

Big-name Christians who can seen (via videos and photos on the internet) revealing that their true allegiance is to Satan includes not only the wealthy TV preachers and bestselling authors (Pat Robertson, Joel Osteen, Perry Stone, David Jeremiah, John Hagee, Jonathan Cahn, Charles Stanley, John MacArthur, Joyce Meyer, Bill Johnson), but well known Bible study teachers including Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, and even the one who was my favorite until I was awakened, Chuck Missler.

Going back to our first discussion a few weeks ago, our Lord Himself said you CANNOT serve both God and money. Any Christian who profits off God’s word is not serving Him. Kay Arthur, sadly, is included.

But that was a side note! Learning directly from the inspired word at its source (Greek for the NT) with the Holy Spirit as our Teacher is THE way, not via any well recognized so-called Bible teacher or pastor.

Deanna, Randy Alcorn has written so many books and they have generated a lot of money, but he has used that money to create another ministry. What if you or I write a book and submit it to a major publisher like Tyndale and it becomes a best seller and we use it to do other things for the Lord? What are your thoughts? Karen

      1. deanna reynolds Avatar

The Lord is teaching me what matters is His word on a matter, not my (or your) opinion or feelings. So I have a position on matters: His word on them. Thus, as you might have noticed, I direct inquirers to His word on matters!

Again, I direct you to study for yourself first what Jesus taught in the gospels about it, then the Acts of the apostles, and the epistles.

Unfamiliar with the name, does Randy Alcorn call himself a pastor? If he does not, praise God! If he does, and if he receives a salary to do so, then that’s unscriptural. But addressing your specific question, it’s a simple matter of whether the individual or organization profits off the word or not. And the whole 501c3 status is an abomination, but that’s all I’ll write about that.

        A. E. Knoch, the primary saint behind the Concordant Literal NT version in the early 20th century, did NOT profit off it; today, Concordant Publishing Concern still sells them at cost, including their beautiful leather bound Greek Interlinear Bibles. (I just ordered some hard-bound literal NT editions for a mere $10 apiece!).

        1. possesshispromises Avatar
          possesshispromises

I think that Randy Alcorn does not profit from his books or his ministry, but I do not know for sure.

    3. possesshispromises Avatar
      possesshispromises

I think that Chuck Missler left a very lucrative job as you did and started his ministry. Not thinking he lived a lavish life. It’s our job to examine the fruits but Jesus is the judge of motives and intents.

      1. deanna reynolds Avatar

I admired him greatly until I became acquainted with the Illuminists’ numerous hand signals, and realized I’d watched Chuck flash many of them time and time again in his videos. THAT’s fruit in plain sight (the devil requires they do so). We are to be wise as serpents, and that includes waking up from the deception and letting the Holy Spirit educate us as to what these Luciferians (secret society members, occultists) do.

      2. deanna reynolds Avatar

Before Chuck Missler quit working, he was a USNaval officer of significant rank*, and held high positions in the military-industrial-complex. So he very likely had his Luciferian indoctrination as a young man. Remember our Lord’s parable of the wheat and the tares: God ALLOWS the devil to sow the tares and for them to to grow up alongside the wheat in His ecclesia (“church”).
*Look up and watch the entire eye-opening 4-part interview of a bold Christian wife of a USMarine Colonel on YouTube if you haven’t been educated about what’s required of high ranking naval and marine officers yet – I believe it was one of the first the Lord educated me by: “Illuminati wife tells all.” God has seen to it that multiple YouTube channels have the series, so it hasn’t been removed (yet!) from YouTube as other revealing series have been.

        1. possesshispromises Avatar
          possesshispromises

Watching now. Keith was in the Air Force for 22 years and retired as a Lt. Col JAG. There was no Luciferian indoctrination in our experience. Very close communities. Many Christians in the Air Force. Trying times, but when we lived in the Philippines, it made our marriage–broke up many, but made ours. We can’t stereotype.

          1. deanna reynolds Avatar

That’s great to hear. Again, Kay Griggs’ testimony pertains to high ranking US Navy and US Marines – you may have assumed that included US Air Force, but I did not write that.

We are not to stereotype but again, we ARE to be wise as serpents: learn the many hand signs (including the specific handshakes), graven images, and ways of the Luciferians. I’d provide you a link of the very informative Christian website the Lord educated me via (by which I viewed the persons I named yesterday repeatedly making Luciferian handsignals), but it is no longer available.

Per his biography on “The Official Website of Dr. Chuck Missler,” Chuck’s work was with the intelligence community (incl. “think tanks”) and the Department of Defense, as well as the military-industrial-complex. That particular environment is rife with Luciferians at top levels (note that neither Kay Griggs nor I are saying all within it become such). Indoctrination at a relatively young age would explain why Chuck Missler rose as high as he did in his work. (I stand corrected: although he graduated from the Annapolis Naval Academy, it was the Air Force in which he served, oddly enough.)

Again, Chuck’s repeated flashing of the hand signs is the proof he was serving Lucifer AS he was making those Bible study videos. Hopefully he repented.

Interesting. I’ll have to rewatch some of his videos

          3. deanna reynolds Avatar

Ask the Lord to lead you to a suitable source to learn their handsigns first. When we don’t know the signs, we don’t recognize them.

I went to a sight that showed the signs of Lucifer and they were common signs that people use for other meanings. One was the right hand over the heart. Do you have a credible site that gives the signs?

          7. deanna reynolds Avatar

We are to walk in accordance with in the Spirit – ask Him to lead you, and don’t react according to the old man (the “natural” tendency). Know that things are established by two or three witnesses.

            It’s shocking at first!

          10. deanna reynolds Avatar

But yes, a handful of the handsigns have been “successfully” incorporated into our culture, especially via the music industry and Hollywood and emojis: the 6-6-6 sign (innocents falsely believe it just means A-OK), the index finger pointed up (Billy Graham used that a lot while preaching), and of course the “devil’s horns”. Many of our US Presidents have been Freemasons or members of other secret societies (Bushes: Skull and Bones), including many of our founding fathers. Washington DC was intentionally designed to display occult symbols when viewed from above (that’s why the streets are at odd angles & with circles). Obelisks worldwide, incl. he Washington Monument and outside the Vatican, represent the male generative organ, and huge domes (e.g. our capitol, St. Peter’s & St. Paul’s cathedrals) represent the female counterpart. Most of the hand signals are also of sexual significance (like the pyramid Trump and Germany’s PM frequently flash): these gods and goddesses being worshiped are very sexually/fertility-oriented.

          11. possesshispromises Avatar
            possesshispromises

Wow! Amazing! But do they mean anything if people don’t think of them that way? Of course, not the 6-6-6, but what sign is it? A-OK?

          12. deanna reynolds Avatar

Good question. My response is not when you don’t know what it means, but once you know, absolutely DON’T use them. The Lord, however, immediately brought the key passage from Luke 12:35-48 to mind, especially vv. 45-48. It’s a hard word that most Christians prefer to ascribe to unbelievers, but He spoke it TO DISCIPLES. But that’s a WHOLE other topic for another time, covered in https://thelordiswithus.com/resurrection-rapture-judgment-and-millennium/

          13. deanna reynolds Avatar

I don’t know the person who “pinned” this, but I just found this Pinterest board which has many of the legitimate freemasonic handsigns & handshake drawings as well as photos of “the rulers of this world” and pop culture idols flashing them: https://www.pinterest.com/foxy793/hand-signs/. Train yourself to always observe handshakes, whether on a TV screen, in a photo, or in the “meet our pastor” line at church: the Freemasons and other secret society members appear compelled to reveal their allegiance/identity this way. Now, prepare yourself. In addition to the photos of him flashing his handsigns (especially in portraits, which ARE intentional), THAT’s how the Lord convinced me Billy Graham was a high degree mason – those AND via a photographic portrait of him in his old age surrounded by 5-7 other famous masons (mainly US politicians).

          14. possesshispromises Avatar
            possesshispromises

Thank you for this. The Midnight Freemasons claim that Billy Graham was not a freemason, by freemasons (disturbing first photo of skull & crossbones, http://www.midnightfreemasons.org/p/blog-page.html)/ http://www.midnightfreemasons.org/2011/11/billy-graham-freemason-or-not_24.html
My grandpa was a freemason and a church planter. I believe he was wrong, but I also believe that I will see him in heaven. I was also a Rainbow girl, but soon lost interest and wondered about the parent organization of the masons. Glad I got out of that.

          15. deanna reynolds Avatar

Sister, Freemasons take numerous oaths (see Matt. 5:34, James 5:12), including, of course, oaths to help each other out – thus NO need to even click on a link to one of their sites claiming so-and-so is not a mason! Praise God you left the RGs, and praise Him for granting us repentance!! We ALL need His grace and mercy so desperately!

          16. possesshispromises Avatar
            possesshispromises

Thank you. Yes, the RGs never appealed to me but Mama was an Eastern Star, and my grandpa was a mason. All that secret stuff just didn’t make sense, and reminding God that He promised Noah not to destroy the earth with a flood and the rainbow was a sign of the covenant–why did I need to open my Bible to that Scripture and remind God every night? And then there was the secret to the lambskin apron. What we humans invent!

Of course had no idea your family was involved when prompted to write what I did today, Karen! It’s funny, sometimes, when the Lord allows us to see some of how He’s ministering through us. I’m so very grateful to Him and to you for this fellowship. Your beautiful relationship with your husband, his obtaining such high rank in the USAF without spiritual compromise, and your testimony of many Christians in the AF are very encouraging to me. We have a young fighter-pilot-to-be at USAFA’s prep school, and of course are confident the Lord will continue keeping her / enabling her to continue serving Him in accordance with His will. Thank you both for your love for and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ!

Also called “Illuminati wife,” the recommended interview is of Katherine (Kay) Pollard Griggs, wife of Marine Col. George Griggs, and was done by pastor Rick Strawcutter. Nearly seven hours long, the original was uploaded in four parts. As I recall, the relatively inexperienced pastor interviewer doesn’t ask her to state her name and her husband’s full name until the beginning of part 3 or part 4, but, by the power of the Holy Spirit, she boldly divulges their names long before that while testifying.

  3. deanna reynolds Avatar

Not having heard from you, I come bearing more encouragement. You are shocked by what I’ve shared above because it is not the milk you are accustomed to. Truth (God’s solid food of Heb. 5, in this case) takes us out of our comfort zones: death to self! The believer’s “old man” avoids the narrow gate, and prefers the wide path of mainstream Christianity and popular Bible studies (Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, BSF, CBS, etc.).

But our Lord is always calling us to humble ourselves: put off that old man by the power of the Holy Spirit, put on the new, and search His (actual) word out for ourselves as for hidden treasure! He enabled me to do it – He will do the same for ALL who value Truth more than comfort! Jesus is worth losing all for!

Deanna, Not avoiding replying. Have had a number of things come up as well as preparing for a marriage conference and our new Bible Study series. I will follow up, I promise. By the way, I won’t teach from Beth Moore any more. A number of ladies have said that they enjoy the Community Bible Study and I’ve thought about investigating that, but I haven’t. I do value Kay Arthur’s studies Precept Upon Precept studies but not the ones that require less work. This is also graduation week at the university, and my hubby is the associate dean, so lots going on this week. Please pray that we will get our couples at church into deeper relationships with God, living for Him and each other. That conference is June 8. Thank you for your prayers, my friend. Karen

Studying the New Testament (NT) original Greek using a good interlinear bible and the Concordant Version reveals that Jesus Christ was actually resurrected early in the morning on the sabbath (Saturday, which is today as I write this!), not the first day of the week (Sunday) as is nearly universally mistranslated. Fulfilling His numerous prophecies of rising on the third day, our Lord thus was crucified as the Passover Lamb on Wednesday, Preparation day, and was placed in the tomb right before Passover began that evening. In observance of the Passover, the women were unable to buy and prepare spices with which to anoint Him until Friday; they went to the tomb to do so early Saturday morning, and of course found it empty.

Deanna, Thank you for the link and the reply. I’m looking up my New Testament Word Study edited by Zodhiates, and it indicates it was the first day of the week, but I’ll digest your article on your website. I do see in Strong’s Concordance, that there is the word
πρῶτος, prōtos which means “first in time” before the word σάββατον, sabbaton, which means sabbath or seventh in Mark 16:9. There is an explanation of the different theories of the timing at https://www.gotquestions.org/three-days.html. I think the very important thing is that we agree that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for your sins and my sins, for He was the Perfect Sacrifice, the Passover Lamb that takes away the sins of the world. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day as was prophesied, and that He sits at the right hand of the Majesty on High making intercession for you and me. May the Lord bless you with His great peace and love as you celebrate His resurrection. Karen

      1. deanna reynolds Avatar

”I think the very important thing is that we agree that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for your sins and my sins, for He was the Perfect Sacrifice, the Passover Lamb that takes away the sins of the world….” Yes, dear Sister, those are most important, but God still desires that we value His word enough to search it out as for hidden treasure. Sadly, most don’t.

The Greek Interlinear Bible and the Concordant Literal versions are VERY valuable in revealing many translation errors, which are responsible for many false teachings, such as the day of the week the early ecclesia met and the day of the week in which our Lord was resurrected. Please do read the article, study the links therein, and study along to see how the two resources are complementary and of tremendous in revealing truths otherwise hidden.

        1. deanna reynolds Avatar

The mistranslation of the Greek word meaning sabbath (Strongs G4521) in these Scriptures is a ROOT problem. The Zodiates and Got Questions sources you used address peripheral matters only, and do not address the ROOT problem.

The the Greek word meaning sabbath (correctly translated as such in 58/69 instances in the NT) is revealed by this link https://biblehub.com/greek/strongs_4521.htm
to be mistranslated “first day of the week” when pertaining only to the day of the week Jesus was resurrected and the day of the week the early ecclesia met. That’s the ROOT problem here – that’s why people try to explain away how their incorrect timeline prevents our Lord’s prophecies to spend three days and nights in the heart of the earth and to rise on the THIRD day (not second!) from being fulfilled (when of course they actually were, but via a correct timeline: Weds. crucifixion and Saturday resurrection (again, please study the article),

There’s much solid food to learn in God’s glorious word! Translation errors such as this (in the KJV and most modern translations alike) should lead serious students and teachers of the NT Scriptures to GO TO THE SOURCE: the Greek Interlinear Bible, and the novel Concordant Literal NT version. Blessings are in store for ALL who so, and so I wanted you (a fellow lover of truth!) and your students to benefit from this also. 💕✝️
