Jesus beaten. Jesus nailed. Jesus suffering. Jesus forgiving. Jesus saving. Jesus providing. Jesus forsaken. Jesus thirsty. Jesus paid. Jesus died. Jesus pierced. Jesus entombed.

Good Friday.

God gave the world His only begotten Son to give eternal life. Jesus came to serve and save all who would choose to believe on Him.

Even on the cross, Jesus thinks of others.

Bleeding, eyes almost swollen shut, unrecognizable. From the cross, He looks at the soldiers who nailed Him to the tree and the jeering crowd and prays for them.

Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do. Luke 23:34

Arms out of joint, He pushes up to take a breath and give hope to one more sinner.

Truly I say to you, today, you will be with me in Paradise. Luke 23:43

Shredded skin, He looks at His mother and the disciple who He loved.

Woman, behold your son. John 19:26

Filled with shame, He takes our sin upon Himself.

My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Mark 15:34 

The Source of Living Water, is spent.

I am thirsty. John 19:28 

The Redeemer pays the price for the world’s sins.

It is finished. John 19:30

The Savior of the World, the King of Kings, the Alpha and Omega hands His spirit to God the Father.

Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit. Luke 23:46

Good Friday, indeed.

My prayer

Father, thank  You for Your great love. Thank You for Jesus and His great love. I pray that the Holy Spirit will touch the world with the understanding of the price of its sin. I pray for a great awakening and recognition of Jesus as Savior. I pray that people are convicted of their sin and turn to You. Thank You for the cross and for the Lamb of God. This is truly a Good Friday.
