Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [freedom]. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:17
Paul writes in the verse before this that the person who hears the Law has a veil over his heart, but when a person turns to Jesus, that veil is removed. The veil compels the person to continue in his attempt to keep the entire Law. Struggle as he might, he cannot keep the Law and continues to be a slave to his sin nature.
If he accepts Jesus as his Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in his body, for his body is now the temple of the Holy Spirit, and he experiences true freedom from the consequences of his sin, for Jesus paid the price of his sins.
“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” John 8:31-32
As we continue studying the Word of God, the Holy Spirit convicts us and teaches us the truths of God that lead us to the throne of God. There, with unveiled faces, we behold the glory of the Lord.
What a promise the Lord has given us–that we are “being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit!”
My prayer for you:
Most holy and awesome Father, guide us into a deeper and more intimate understanding as we behold Your glory and possess Your promise to transform us from glory to glory.
Is your freedom transforming you?
