Lay the impossible at Jesus’ feet … become hope-filled

Departing from there, Jesus went along by the Sea of Galilee, and having gone up on the mountain, He was sitting there. And large crowds came to Him, bringing with them those who were lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many others, and they laid them down at His feet; and He healed them. So the crowd marveled as they saw the mute speaking, the crippled restored, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel. Matthew 15:29-31

“Jesus is on the mountain. Let’s get Papa and see if He will heal his eyes. Tell Matthias to bring his mother.”

“There He is. Lay him at His feet.”

“Jesus is smiling at Papa. Papa’s smiling back. He can see.”

“Look, He’s speaking to Matthias’ mother. He’s touching her leg. She’s talking to Him.”

Hands on the ground … Scrunched … Pushing up … Standing … Walking … HEALED.

Lying at Jesus’ feet … The six steps of the hope-filled

Jesus addresses everyone’s needs individually. There is no formula. These six steps happened on the mountain that day with Jesus. The sick

  1. Acknowledged that they couldn’t fix their problem.
  2. Received help from others.
  3. Laid at the feet of Jesus.
  4. Waited upon Jesus to work.
  5. Received healing.
  6. Glorified God.

“Whatever our case is, the only way to find ease and relief, is to lay it at Christ’s feet, to submit it to him, and refer it to his disposal.” Matthew Henry

My prayer for you

Our Great Healer and Comforter, we lay our bodies before You. We lay our circumstances before You. We wait upon You. Have Your way with us. Touch us. Heal us. We trust Your work in us. We give You the glory, honor and praise.

What will you lay before Jesus?
